This catalog is displayed at the exhibition at Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen , Rotterdam ( 8 February to 11 May 2014). The exhibition is a unique gathering of the work of three of the most influential artists of the twentieth century : Constantin Brancusi (1876-1957) , Medardo Rosso (1858-1928) and Man Ray ( 1890-1976 ) . The exhibited works and discussed , including five sculptures and a hundred photos that they made their sculptures , have a look over the shoulder of these artists in the catalog. Brancusi , Rosso and Man Ray are all not only been decisive for the development of modern sculpture , but in addition they made in their work in an innovative way using photography. The artists do not put so much in the photography to record their work, but as a means to make the spectators their sculptures had to see and interpret clearly. They used the - experimental possibilities of the medium , such as lighting , innovative camera angles and the blurring of foreground or background - for that time .
