Bridges have become a focus of increased attention and awareness in the last ten years as highly visible elements that define the urban and nonurban landscape. Interest is particularly strong in pedestrian bridges, which are often experimental in terms of both construction and materials.Combined loadbearing systems, user-friendly design and pioneering material technology are indicative of recent developments.
