Ideas from Massimo Osti tells the story of the birth and development of the formal and textile innovations of the creator of the clothing brands C.P. Company and Stone Island, of one of the most respected and imitated designers of his generation (crowned the most important man of 90s menswear by Arena Homme +), whose innovations confounded the rules of the industry and created the fabrics of today. It is the story of a ´fashion engineer´ who throughout the 70s and 80s stubbornly created an entirely new category of clothing, known today as ´urban sportswear´, inspired equally by the cultural ferment of those years as his enormous archive of vintage military uniforms and workwear. The book has been written with images of his most important designs, with the evidence of his military inspirations and other objects from the archive: sketches, photocopies, scraps of fabric, buttons, accessories...A photo-reportage from his studio, where the accumulation of matter was a daily reality and research the method and motivation for this accumulation.
