When Spain fascinated America

Paradoxically, the height of Spain´s cultural influence in the USA took place shortly after the brief 1898 Spanish-American War; specifically, between the 1909 and 1925 Zuloaga exhibitions, which marked the summit of the so-called "Spanish craze"; a period in which many aspects of the hispanic civilisation became fashionable in the USA. It´s no exaggeration to claim that, during those years, the Spanish culture fascinated the American public.
