Jarvis va estudiar Disseny Gràfic i va treballar com a il·lustrador de portades de discos, dissenyador web i director d´animació abans d´escriure i il·lustrar llibres infantils. Ha publicat nombrosos títols, entre els quals es troben ´Scary Teeth´, que va guanyar el premi al Millor Llibre Il·lustrat del V&A.
