Lothar baumgarten. Autofocus retina (english)

On the occasion of his first retrospective exhibition in Spain, Lothar Baumgarten (Rheinsberg, Germany, 1944) has selected a series of works and installations created from the end of the 1960´s until now. Some of these pieces have been adapted to the architectural spaces of the MACBA, thus turning them into site-specific works. The exhibition enables the viewer to follow the creative trajectory of an artist who does not comply with the aesthetic vision of art but who continually questions the logic structuring thought and Western systems of representation.
