Enchantress, Marthe Bibesco and her world

Born at the turn of the century in Bucharest -descendant of the ruelrs of Byzantium, daugther of the romanian minister of foreign affairs, married to the heir of the Hospodar of Walachia- she had looks, talent and a cosmopolitan education. She went on to become one of the most acclaimed international writers and intellectuals of her day, admired by Marcel Proust, Edith Wharton, Anatole France, and André Gide, she was also a confidant and close friend of Europe´s leading politicians and monarchs.
