‘All of Arquitectura-G’s interiors share a very specifc aesthetic, an aesthetic that relates to the good life, almost to a state of permanent vacation, a hedonistic lifestyle with clear Mediterranean affliations. Their interiors seem to be suspended in time, oblivious to the current trend of combining life and work in the same place. No, in their interiors one can only imagine a pleasurable, fun, but also restful life, wearing comfortable house clothes, wrapped in materials that have a pleasant touch and seem to come from another time’.

Nineteen Interventions: Arquitectura-G is the frst monograph to celebrate the work of this award-winning, Barcelona-based studio, and rounds off their frst decade of practice.

Readers are quickly absorbed into a distinctive universe, as they transit through more than 100 full-bleed images, where spaces, angles, and textures merge and intersect, page after page. Ultimately, these interventions—renovations or extensions that rest upon the framework of existing buildings—paint a larger picture as well: of an economic crisis that devastated a profession but gave rise to the conditions that shaped the young architects’ singular style and method of working.

Photographed by the studio’s long-time collaborator José Hevia, the book also features texts by Oscar Tusquets, Moisés Puente, and Sam Chermayeff, as well as individual architectural plans for each project.
