Les nostres recomanacions i propostes

En el context del festival BCNegra 2019, que se celebra del 24 de gener al 3 de febrer, hem demanat a alguns dels autors i autores participants que facin una petita selecció de lectures.


Charles Cumming recomana:

- The Spy Who Came in from the Cold by John le Carré. The first chapter of my novel, Complot en Estambul, is an homage to the opening of le Carre’s masterpiece, arguably the finest spy novel of all time.
 
- Journey into Fear by Eric Ambler. A hugely enjoyable thriller about a British engineer forced to run for his life after encountering enemy agents in wartime Istanbul.
 
- The Ipcress File by Len Deighton. Deighton’s witty, stylish debut about a wisecracking MI5 officer caught up in a sinister Cold War conspiracy.

- The Magus by John Fowles. A complex, engrossing page-turner by the author of The Collector and The French Lieutenant’s Woman. 
 
- The Secret History by Donna Tartt. Murder and collusion at an American college in Tartt’s fiendishly clever debut.
 
- The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle by Haruki Murakami. A dizzying journey through post-war Japan, full of remarkable characters and stunning set-pieces.
 
- The Big Sleep by Raymond Chandler. Chandler was in his 50s by the time he published his first novel. Hope for late starters everywhere!
