Península

We are thrilled to use this books & zines category to announce the release of our first photozine! Península shows the work of eight young photographers with a special relationship to either Spain or Portugal. Last year, Carlos Cancela Pinto talked to me about possible collaborations at the same time that I was about to move to Madrid for half a year. We came up with Península as a way to understand and celebrate life on the Iberian peninsula. Although they are two different countries, the geographical position of Spain and Portugal makes for an underlying, commonly shared culture. We wanted to celebrate this unity and diversity by showing various perspectives from the peninsula. Featured in the zine are: Carlos Cancela Pinto, Aitor Gametxo, Alba Yruela, Carla Andrade, Karine Versluis,João Sobral, Lluís Tudela and Icíar J. Carrasco. Península was edited by Elisa Nelissen and Carlos Cancela Pinto.
