I Am Not Sidney Poitier

Everett´s novel follows Not Sidney Poitier´s tunultuous life as a wealthy orphan maturing under the watch of Ted Turner. Not Sidney gets arrested for driving while black and sleuths a murder case in Smuteye, Alabama, all while navigating the recurrent communication problem: "What´s your name? a kid would ask. "Not Sidney", I would say. "Okay, then what is it?"
