Soldier´s pay

Published in 1926, William Faulkner´s first novel, Soldiers´ Pay, is one of the most memorable works to emerge from the First World War. The story of a wounded veteran´s homecoming, it followa the lives of three soldiers and the impact of their return on the people -particularely the women- who were left behind. Faulkner already displays his distinctive voice, his original and masterly style.
