To cellebrate the millenium, the National Gallery invited 24 of the world´s leading contemporary artists to create an entirely new work in response to one of the greatest colletions of European painting on the past. These new works -paintings, drawings, sculpture, photography and video- are presented here alongside the paintings that inspired them.
