Born-Einstein Letters 1916-1955

A new edition of the correspondence between Max and Hedwig Born and Albert Einstein between 1916 and 1955, translated by Irene Born, featuring original contributions from Werner Heisenberg and Bertrand Russell and new material from Gustav Born, Diana Buchwald and Kip Thorne. Albert Einstein and Max Born were giants of physics and great friends.Their letters span forty years and two world wars. In them they argue about quantum theory, agree about Beethoven´s heavenly violin and piano duets (wich they played together when they met) and chat about their families. Equally important, the men commiserate over the tragic plight of European Jewry and discuss what they should play in the tumultuous politics of the time.
