Collected Poems

The Welsh poet Dylan Thomas (1914-1953) compiled his Collected Poems as the capstone of his career to date but died tragically before its publication. The Collected Poems of Dylan Thomas has since become the standard volume of the poet´s work. Thomas´s "Prologue" -an introduction in verse addressed to "my readers, the strangers"- was his final poem. Such classics as "And death shall have no dominion", "Do not go gentle into that good night", and "Fern Hill" have influenced generations of bards from Bob Dylan to John Lennon to the singer and songwriter Annie Clark. The Collected Poems has become the most popular edition of Thomas´s poetry -now introduced with an illuminating essay by the Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Paul Muldoon.
